Her cheerful demenour and positivity make her a valuable asset to our team. She deserved to win her award from Indio as most promising aesthetician for 2011 and her clients know this too! Mother of two children a boy and a girl, Merrie enjoys Waka Ama in her spare time. " I spent most of my life on the Kapiti Coast just outside Wellington. This is where I met my husband and our son was born there. In 2003 we decided to move our family to Sydney, Australia. On our way we stopped in Nelson to say good-bye to my parents and make a bit of cash picking apples for the season. We liked Nelson so much, we never left and our daughter was born here. My first interest in becoming a Beauty Therapist was when I was 13. I came across a training book for therapists and opened it at what must have been the chemistry section and thought "Whoa, I can do that!" Many year later when my youngest turned five, I told myself, "I can do it". So, I enrolled on the Beauty Therapy Course at Nelson Marlborogh Institute of Technology and worked hard to get the best out of my time there not only for myself but for my future clients. I maintained a high standard and stayed consistently in the top end of my clsass. Ironically, I was the only student to get a straight pass in chemistry (I didn't see that one coming when I was 13). I am very fortunate to walk out of training and into the award winning "About Beauty" with Lisa and here team and I'm very excited to become part of that success." |
